“Childhood memories,” she said,
Chorus:
From then on she was put in many different homes,
Chorus
I met her one day she was livin’
Chorus
Well she went away to a new place,
Chorus
“they seem so for away
from me,
I remember how she would hold me
and say that everything was
gonna be alright.
But that’s all I remember of her,
no more thoughts, no
more rhymes, no more memories.”
And then one day
it all blew up in her face,
they said
they were gonna take her away
to a much better place,
away from all this
hell and poverty
all the things that she never did
see.
And they never knew her life.
They never knew her thoughts.
They never knew her story
and all they saw, was a little girl
Alone and Dirty.
Just a little girl,
Alone and Dirty.
with no
one to love and to care for her.
She never let
anyone touch her,
never let anyone see,
the real girl hidden inside that
small frail body.
She was one of the kids
that you never really talk to,
and
you never really notice them.
in the home down the
road,
that’s got new kids livin’ in it
just about every
week.
We never
really talk to them,
we never really see them,
I mean what’s the use,
they’re just gonna be gone soon.
Well she’s the one who changed my mind,
never knew a
simple “hello” could change a life.
And in that small short time that
she was here,
she talked of her life and the ones she held
dear.
to get a new life and a
brand new face.
And in that small short time that she was here,
she taught
me that it’s better to get along here;
if we live everyday like there is
no tomorrow and to love,
like there is no one else
and to see more than
just the picture
and stop putting all these problems on the
shelf.
