In the spring of 2006 I began a project of musical inspiration. Some might call it an interest or a hobby, but for me it's really more of a life decision to speak thoughts through the medium of music. I was classically trained in jazz choirs, madrigal singing, world music choirs, and eventually went on to conduct voice lessons with a number of students over the years.

My passion takes it's root from those old folksingers that seem to be so long forgotten in the arena of current popular culture. Nowadays it's an industry driven by profit and production, instead of the simple act of making and creating music to spread and share.

This project is a collection of political songs, protest chants, slam poems, and common sense melodies that speak from a place beyond what the media screams at us.

The idea of being trapped in a country where false idols and profit driven art dominate the airwaves through corporate control combined with crooked FCC legistlation, which dictate, to all of us our means of free speech.

It is with those thoughts in mind that led me to working on this current project which I have titled, 'American Refugee.' It's the culmination of the past few years of my life, living in America, and witnessing all these things gone wrong... it's a compelling topic for song I think.
